Welcome to the Lynchburg Elementary School Library!

Hello Parents,

Welcome to the Lynchburg Elementary School Library! My name is Sarah Gammon. I am excited for the new school year. This is my tenth year in teaching, all but one year as a school librarian. I am a mother of five wonderful children.  I love reading, spending time with my family, and meeting new people. I am looking forward to meeting all of you very soon. LES is an incredible school, with amazing teachers and staff. My philosophy is to inspire children to have a lifelong love of reading. Library class will be fun and  meaningful.  I will be working with teachers and staff to create lesson plans that reinforce skills that they are teaching  in the classroom.   This year, we will also be learning about research skills, TEL, folktales, fairy tales, fiction vs. nonfiction, author studies, writing skills, Dewey Decimal System, great read aloud stories, and so much more. I will also be incorporating STEM lessons into my curriculum. I have attached the links to some wonderful resources your children will enjoy. Great read aloud stories, activities, and websites. I have also included some optional activities students may complete at home if they would like to.  I am looking forward to a great school year. Feel free to message me at with any questions. Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! -Mrs. Gammon
