The Moore County Board of Education has approved to close schools on Friday, October 25th. Due to the school security risks that are associated with such a large number of people that will be in town, the board has decided it best to close schools on Friday of the barbecue weekend. The board will be looking closely at the school calendar for the upcoming school year to incorporate scheduled school closures for large events that occur during the school year.
