Student Ambassador

Hello, My name is Kelsey Jolley. I am an eleventh grade student at Moore County High School. I have been accepted as one of forty United States Student Ambassadors from Tennessee and Alabama. I was nominated for this position by way of previous United States Achievement Academy National Awards. As a Student Ambassador, I will be traveling to Austria, Switzerland, France, and Italy where I will study their cultures. I will be taking part in a home stay with a family in one of t hose four countries. During the home stay, I will have the chance to go to school with the family's children, share stories about the U.S. and my community, and learn about their country and community through stories of their own. During my stay as a Student Ambassador, I will be visiting the Vatican City in Italy, the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre in France, and Auschwitz in Austria. At Auschwitz I will have the privilege of speaking with a Holocaust survivor. I am very excited to learn about their way of life as well as to share my experiences as an American. However, in order to make this happen I am expected to pay $6500 for expense of the trip. My family and I have an ongoing bake sale fundraiser; and along with several other fundraising events I have received donations. We are still a long way off but I am working hard to raise the money required to participate in this program. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I would hate to miss out on.
