Detection Canines

posted Jul 29, 2014, 8:54 AM by Chad Moorehead
Our school system has contracted with Interquest Detection Canines, Inc. to provide trained detection canines to conduct random unannounced inspections of all school grounds. The canines are trained to detect the presence of illicit drugs, prescription pills, alcohol, and firearms.  Campus buildings, parking lots (all vehicles present), and grounds will be randomly inspected for prohibited items.  If detected and found, the school administrators will initiate the appropriate disciplinary action.  The canines are non-aggressive and they are trained to discriminate specific “scents” of contraband items.  Our school system has taken this measure to help ensure a safe and healthy learning environment for everyone.  You can read more about this service by visiting
