Sealed bids for the Moore County Board of Education Central Office Renovation located at 276 Mechanical Street North in Lynchburg, TN will be received by the Moore County Board of Education at the Moore County Board of Education office, 241 Main Street, Lynchburg, TN  37352 until 1:00 P.M. CDT on Thursday 13th April, 2017 and then at said time publicly opened and read aloud.

Project consists of the following:

A Central Office renovation for the Moore County Board of Education.

The Instructions to Bidders, Form of Agreement, Drawings, Specifications, Forms of Bid Bond, Performance and Payment Bonds, and other bidding instruments may be examined at the following location:

Copies may be obtained at the office of OLIVER LITTLE GIPSON ENGINEERING, INC., upon the NON-REFUNDABLE payment of $150.00 for each printed set or $10.00 for a compact disc containing PDF files for printing. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality and to reject any or all bids.

A MANDATORY Pre-bid Meeting will be held at the project site at 276 Mechanic Street in Lynchburg at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 3rd, 2017.  Prospective contractors should report to the site behind the Elementary for entry and sign in prior.

All Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of Tennessee in strict accordance with State regulations. No bid will be opened unless the outside of the sealed envelope containing the bid provides the following information: the name, license number, the date of the license’s expiration, and the classification of the contractors applying to the bid for the prime contract and for electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contracts (if applicable to the project), except when the bid is in an amount less the twenty-five thousand dollars ($25, 000). When the bid is less than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000), the name of the contractor only may appear on the outside of the envelope containing the bid, and upon opening the envelope, if such bid is in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000), the same shall automatically be disqualified. Prime contractor bidders who are to perform the electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (if applicable to the project) must be so designated upon the outside of the envelope. Failure of any bidder to comply therewith shall void such bid and the envelope containing such bid shall not be opened or considered. In the case of joint ventures bids, each party submitting the bid must provide this information. All Bidders shall comply with the Contractors Licensing Act of 1976 and as amended (TCA Title 62). All Bidders shall comply with the Tennessee Contractor’ License law Section 62-6-119 (Bid documents-Required disclosure by bidders) when submitting bids.

All bidders shall adhere to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act enacted in 1964 which states that “No person in the United States shall, on grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance”, state of Tennessee funding, and/or Moore County funding.

All bids must be made out on the Bid Form bound in the contract documents, and the Bid Form should not be detached from the contract documents. Bids will not be opened from Bidders who have not obtained the contract documents from the Engineer and are on the bidders list. With the bid, each Bidder must deposit security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, subject to the conditions stated in the Instructions to Bidders. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount will be required for the successful Bidder. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening.

Employees of the selected contractor must have a sexual predator background check performed prior to entering any Moore County school grounds as per Tennessee Code Annotated Section 49-5-413.

Bids must be received by 1:00 P.M. Central Time at the Board to be considered.

Pursuant to T.C.A. § 50-9-114, Moore County, Tennessee has adopted a Drug & Alcohol Testing Program and is required to include this information in our bid specifications.  Moore County, Tennessee requires Alcohol and Controlled Substances testing for Safety-Sensitive Positions as required by the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Act of 1991 and related United States Department of Transportation rules and regulations set forth in 49 CFR Federal Regulations Parts 40 and 382.  BIDDERS MUST SUBMIT AN AFFIDAVIT THAT THE BIDDER OPERATES A DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING PROGRAM WITH REQUIREMENTS AT LEAST AS STRINGENT AS THAT OF THE PROGRAM OPERATED BY MOORE COUNTY, TENNESSEE.

Moore County High School is a school is seeking a Head Boys Basketball coach to oversee a program with a proud tradition.  All endorsement areas will be considered. As the middle school basketball program is located in the same building as the high school, the head coach can have a direct impact on the only feeder program in the district. Moore County High School is seeking an enthusiastic coach ready to help develop players into young men that will be successful on and off the court. Hiring Process: (May be adjusted at the discretion of the Principal)

  1. To be considered for an interview, all candidates are required to submit an application at and supply other information that will be requested by the administration.

  2. The MCHS administrative team will review all submitted applications and packets.

  3. Four to five candidates will be invited to MCHS for first round interviews to be conducted by the Athletic Director, Assistant Principal and Principal.

  4. The top three candidates will be invited back to campus for interviews with the academic team, a committee consisting of students and community members, and the Director of Schools.

  5. The Moore County Schools administrative team will make a recommendation for hire.

Proposed Timeline: (The administrative team reserves the right to adjust this timeline in order to find the right person for the position.)

  • First Round Interviews will be scheduled on April 3 - 5, 2017.

  • Second Round Interviews will be scheduled on April 7, 2017

  • Recommendation for Hire will be submitted no later than April 14, 2016.
